R-HUB is pleased
to announce the release of TurboMeeting 8.0.
1. Critical Fixes in 8.0
- Ensured
compliance with new MAC OS security policies, which
broke the existing effortless workflow for installation,
desktop sharing, camera and computer mic.
- Fixed a
rare PSTN audio conferencing integration issue, which
showed the host had not started an online meeting even
though the host had indeed started it.
- Fixed
audio issues with some devices that have more than two
channels.
- Fixed
occasional viewer flashing issue for some PC users.
- Ensured
compliance with updated browsers for SSL certificate
installation.
2. Major New
Features in 8.0
-
Improved Echo Cancellation. Significantly improved
the Echo Cancellation function; in most cases, users can
now utilize their computer microphones and speakers
without using a headset.
-
Reduced CPU Usages. Reduced the CPU usages for HD
video conferencing.
-
Refined MAC User Interface. Ensured that the MAC
user interface is compatible with the PC user
experience.
-
Transfer Host. Ensured that the current host is
allowed to designate an attendee as a new host, enabling
the current host to exit the session while the new host
takes over and continues the session.
-
Introduced RemoteHand for Remote Support. Introduced
Remote Support functions via HD video. With RemoteHand,
the supporter can direct the remote supportee visually
via webcam in order to fix countless applications
including physical devices, large equipment, pipelines,
electricity lines, city sewer systems, etc. Both the
supporter and the supportee are able to annotate over
video to pinpoint where issues exist and demonstrate how
to fix them. Multiple supporters can also work jointly.
See
http://www.rhubcom.com/v5/TurboRemoteHand.html for
more details.
To further enhance the RemoteHand experience, this year,
R-HUB will provide a hands-free, helmet-mounted,
high-quality 1080p HD camera, which can be wirelessly
connected to mobile devices. For now, users can enjoy
this function and improve productivity right away by
using mobile device cameras.
-
Extended the HD Webcam Viewing Number to 100. Users
are able to see up to 30 webcams at a time; now they can
also rotate the view to include up to 100 webcams in a
single meeting.
- Added
Dedicated HD End Point Devices for Conference Rooms. A dedicated Linux-based
device that
will ensure a consistent HD video-conferencing
experience for every meeting is now available for
conference rooms. See
http://www.rhubcom.com/v5/turbo_room.html for
more details.
-
Refined Mobile Webcam Interfaces. These enhancements
provide mobile users with a better experience when
navigating HD webcams during meetings.
-
Increased Security Measures. Increased
encryption key length to 352 bits for all types of data:
screen, video, audio, files and chats. As a result, the
existing SSL-only meeting traffic feature, which
introduces disconnections and slows down speed, has been
removed from this release. Users preferring to retain
this feature, can contact the R-HUB Support Team to
restore the function. Also, V8 will move from TLS 1.0 to
TLS 1.2.
We welcome
your feedback! If you have any comments or suggestions for
new features that you would like us to include in coming
releases, please send them to
